Global recognition

Quality recognised worldwide

The quality and reliability of Marsili steering systems is recognised internationally. The company supplies complete steering systems for vessels from 5 to 90+ metres — tugs, ferries, barges, crew boats, pilot boats, fishing boats, sailor yachts, motor yachts, sailing yachts, military vessels and patrol boats.

Early 1980s
The company develops a fully hydraulic Follow-Up system, with energy-saving Load-Sensing electric pumps that can automatically provide a prompt emergency steering directly from the bridge in case of an onboard blackout. Adopted on over 40 sailing yachts built in the Tyrrhenian Sea, motor yachts, medium ferries and military ships.

Late 1990s
An all-electric system is developed in parallel with the hydraulic Follow-Up, later evolving into an electronic version with encoder — driven by the need for the exclusive Tactile variant: the skipper feels on the wheel a load proportional to that on the rudder, with adjustable ratio.

New millennium
The technical office develops what is, for Marsili, its flagship: Tactile Feedback, the first dedicated steering system for sailor yachts — born and tested on internal benches with pioneering partners. It allows a large sailing ship to be steered with the feel of the rudder load on the wheel: the helmsman is no longer a motor-yacht commander but a true skipper.

The company’s flexibility enables custom-built systems and ongoing research, supported by valuable customer feedback.
